Mike Yastrzemski of the Braves is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Friday’s spring training games.

Other standout winners include Jasson Domínguez of the Yankees and newly acquired Mets pitcher Freddy Peralta.

Player of the Day: Mike Yastrzemski, Braves

Yastrzemski hit two solo home runs and went 3-for-3, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 15-8 win over the Red Sox. In 2025, he earned 4.0 Box-Toppers points split between the Giants and Royals, finishing 23rd among AL outfielders.

Though Yastrzemski tied for the day’s high Box-Toppers game score (+6.0) with pitchers Freddy Peralta and John Brebbia, he takes the top honor because batters win tiebreakers over pitchers. The Braves signed the 35-year-old to a two-year, $23 million deal in December; he is slated to platoon in left field against right-handed pitching.

AL Player of the Day: Jasson Domínguez, Yankees.

AL Player of the Day: Jasson Domínguez, Yankees

Domínguez homered and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 17-5 win over the Twins. He earned 2.5 Box-Toppers points in 2025 (37th among AL outfielders).

AL & NL Batters of the Day

There are no separate American League and National League Batters of the Day for Friday, as the overall and league Players of the Day were both batters.

Mets pitcher Freddy Peralta has the most 2025 Box-Toppers points among Friday’s spring training Player of the Game winners.

Notable

Mets pitcher Freddy Peralta has the most 2025 Box-Toppers points among Friday’s spring training Player of the Game winners.

Peralta (3IP 0H 0R 0BB 3K W in the 14-3 win over the Cardinals) earned 14.7 Box-Toppers points in 2025 with the Brewers, 12th overall and eighth among NL pitchers.

Peralta was traded from the Brewers to the Mets in January for two prospects. He’s under contract this season (for $8 million) and can become a free agent at the end of the 2026 season. His 14.7 Box-Toppers points are second-most among players changing teams in the offseason, behind Ranger Suárez (15.8), who moved from the Phillies to the Red Sox.

World Baseball Classic

Three of Friday’s winners will soon depart to play for the United States in the World Baseball Classic:
