Twins pitcher Mick Abel is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Monday’s spring training games.

Other top performers include Romeo Sanabria (Padres), the National League Player of the Day, and José Ramírez (Guardians), the American League Batter of the Day.

Player of the Day: Mick Abel, Twins

Abel struck out five over three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 3-0 win over the Tigers. Though he started the game, he did not factor into the decision.

Abel earned 3.0 Box-Toppers points in his 2025 rookie season across eight starts with the Phillies and Twins. He is currently competing for a spot in a Minnesota rotation missing ace Pablo López (6.0 points in 2025), who will miss the 2026 season following Tommy John surgery.

NL Player of the Day: Romeo Sanabria, Padres

Sanabria doubled and went 1-for-1, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 7-5 win over the Brewers.

Sanabria has yet to make his Major League debut and so has 0.0 career Box-Toppers points. He’s played in 318 minor league games over the past four seasons.

Monday’s NL Player of the Day is Romeo Sanabria, Padres

AL Batter of the Day: José Ramírez, Guardians

José Ramírez of the Guardians hit a three-run home run, doubled and went 2-for-3, scoring once and driving in four runs, in the 9-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

Ramírez earned 9.5 Box-Toppers points in 2025, second among AL batters, behind only George Springer of the Blue Jays (9.7 points). Ramírez’s 50.3 Box-Toppers points over 2021-25 is second among AL batters over that span, behind only Aaron Judge of the Yankees (53.7).

Monday’s AL Batter of the Day is José Ramírez, Guardians

NL Batter of the Day

There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Monday because the overall NL Player of the Day is batter Romeo Sanabria.
