Rangers pitcher Jack Leiter is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Saturday, Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet rises to fifth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Other Player of the Game winners Saturday include Cubs pitcher Cade Horton, Blue Jays pitcher José Berríos, Casey Schmitt of the Giants and Colson Montgomery of the White Sox.

Player of the Day

Leiter struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 10-0 win over the Guardians.

Leiter earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 153rd among all players and 53rd among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Cubs pitcher Cade Horton.

Horton earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 7.7 for the season, 26th among NL pitchers.

Crochet (7IP 5H R BB 11K W in the 12-1 win over the Yankees) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 15.1 for the season. He rises to second place among AL pitchers, passing Nathan Eovaldi of the Rangers (14.4 points) and now trails top-ranked AL pitcher Tarik Skubal of the Tigers (19.4 points) by 4.3 points. It would take Crochet at least three starts, earning a maximum of 2.0 points in each start, to pass Skubal.
