Also Tuesday, Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs rises to first place among National League batters in 2025 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors. Other Player of the Game winners Tuesday include Andy Pages of the Dodgers and Cam Smith of the Astros.

Player of the Day

Woo struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks, in the 8-0 win over the Red Sox.

Woo earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 10.0 for the season, third among all players behind Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler (13.1 points) and Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal (10.7 points). Woo ranks second among AL pitchers behind Skubal.

Woo becomes the third player this season to reach 10 Box-Toppers points. It is his second straight season with 10 or more points. In 2024, he earned 11.7 Box-Toppers points with the Mariners, 19th among AL pitchers.

Woo recorded a +10.0 Box-Toppers game score, same as another Tuesday Player of the Game winner, Angels pitcher Kyle Hendricks (6IP 4H 0R BB 9K W in the 4-0 win over the Yankees). But Woo won Player of the Day honors over Hendricks on a tiebreaker with more innings pitched in his game—seven vs. six.

National League Player of the Day

Andy Pages of the Dodgers hit two home runs and went 4-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 8-6 win over the Padres.

Pages earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 34th among NL batters.

American League Batter of the Day

Cam Smith of the Astros hit two home runs and went 4-for-5, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 13-3 win over the Athletics.

About Box-Toppers

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
