Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams is Tuesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Tuesday, Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga rises to first place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day

Williams struck out eight over five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 3-0 win over the Orioles.

Williams earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 46th among all players and 21st among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day

Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval struck out seven over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 9-0 win over the Pirates.

Sandoval earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks 58th among AL pitchers.

American League Player of the Day is Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval.

American League Batter of the Day

Andy Ibanez of the Tigers hit two home runs— including a three-run shot—and doubled, in the 11-7 win over the Guardians. Ibanez went 4-for-4, scoring four times and driving in three runs.

National League Batter of the Day

Bryce Harper of the Phillies hit a grand slam and went 3-for-3, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 10-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Harper earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.2 for the season, rising to second among NL batters, behind Francisco Lindor of the Mets. Though Lindor and Harper both have 3.2 points on the season, Lindor ranks higher because he has more 2023 points—4.0 vs. 3.0.

National League Batter of the Day is Bryce Harper of the Phillies.

Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga rises from third to first place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Tuesday.

Imanaga (7IP 7H 2R BB 8K ND in the 3-2 win over the Padres) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 7.7 for the season, passing previous leader, Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler (6.7), who only took the lead Monday. Imanaga also leads NL pitchers ahead of Wheeler.

Imanaga has won Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors in six of his seven starts this year. The Cubs have won all seven games he started.
