The Tampa Bay Rays maintain their lead in Box-Toppers team rankings for the 13th straight week.

Here are Box-Toppers 2023 team rankings through games of Thursday, June 29. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team accumulated this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams accumulated from June 23 to June 29. The column Wk ago shows the team's rank on June 22.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Braves rise to lead National League teams and the Miami Marlins are the week’s hottest team.

Rays lead all teams

Rays players have accumulated 69.7 Box-Toppers points this season, picking up 5.2 points in the past week. They lead over the second-place Texas Rangers (62.6) by 7.1 points and over the NL-leading Braves (60.9) by 8.8 points.

The Rays have baseball’s best winning percentage (0.667) and are led by pitcher Shane McClanahan (9.7 Box-Toppers points, sixth among all players and fourth among AL pitchers). Rays’ top batter is Isaac Paredes (6.2 points, third among AL batters). There are 22 different Rays players who have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2023.

Braves lead National League teams

The Braves rise to lead NL teams this week, passing the Arizona Diamondbacks, who led for the previous three weeks.

The Braves have 60.9 Box-Toppers points, rising from fourth to third place overall and picking up 5.7 points in the past week. The Diamondbacks have 57.9 points, picking up 2.0 in the past week, and fall from third to sixth overall, third among NL teams. The Braves hold a narrow lead over the second-place NL team, the Miami Marlins (59.7 points, fifth overall).

The Braves have baseball’s second-best winning percentage (0.663), best among NL teams and are led by pitcher Spencer Strider (9.7 points), seventh overall and third among NL pitchers. Top batter is Ronald Acuna Jr. (6.0 points), first among NL batters. There are 21 different Braves players who have earned Box-Toppers points so far in 2023.

Hottest team: Marlins

The Miami Marlins are the week’s hottest team, picking up 7.2 Box-Toppers points in the past week, most of any team, rising from sixth to fifth place overall with 59.7 points.

Biggest jump: Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers had the biggest jump in Box-Toppers team rankings this week, rising five spots from 19th to 14th place with 49.3 Box-Toppers points, picking up 5.7 points in the past week.

Biggest decline: Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox had the biggest decline among all teams in the past week, falling six spots from 13th to 19th place with 46.4 points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week.

Last place: Athletics

The Oakland Athletics are 30th and last place in Box-Toppers team rankings with 23.5 Box-Toppers points, picking up 2.0 points in the past week. The Athletics have been in last for two straight weeks and for nine of the past 10 weeks.

Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
