Athletics pitcher Chris Bassitt is Friday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to eighth place in season player rankings.
Bassitt struck out seven over seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits and one walk, in the 2-0 win over the Angels.
Bassitt earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 11.7 for the season, eighth among all players and fourth among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day—Ryan McMahon of the Rockies hit a grand slam and went 3-for-3, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 9-4 win over the Padres.
American League Batter of the Day—Jose Altuve of the Astros hit two home runs, including a grand slam, in the 9-6 win over the Giants. Altuve went 3-for-6, scoring three times and driving in five runs.
