He passes teammate Justin Verlander (16.8), who led from May 10 until Cole passed him Monday, July 22, holding the lead for two days before Verlander regained the lead Wednesday, July 24. Verlander then held the lead for three days before Cole regained it Saturday.
Cole also leads AL pitchers ahead of Verlander.
