Player of the Day: Luis Severino, Athletics

Severino struck out 10 over seven innings, allowing two runs, three hits and no walks, in the 3-2, 10-inning win over the Angels. Severino did not earn the win because the game was tied when he exited.

Severino earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 77th among all players and 30th among American League pitchers.

NL Player of the Day: Braxton Ashcraft, Pirates

Ashcraft struck out nine over seven innings, allowing one run, four hits and two walks, in the 6-2 win over the Cardinals.

Ashcraft earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points, jumping from sixth to first place overall with 9.4 points. He leapfrogged previous leader and teammate Paul Skenes (9.0), while also taking the lead among NL pitchers

Ashcraft previously led season player rankings for one day, May 9 with 7.7 points, before he was passed by Angels pitcher José Soriano on May 10 (8.0 points).

NL Batter of the Day: Mike Yastrzemski, Braves

Yastrzemski homered, doubled and went 3-for-3, scoring twice and driving in two runs, in the 9-3 win over the Marlins.
