Player of the Day: Chase Dollander, Rockies

Dollander struck out nine over 5 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks, in the 3-2 win over the Astros. Dollander came on in relief in the second inning after Juan Mejia opened the game.

Dollander earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 54th in season player rankings, 22nd among National League pitchers.

AL Player of the Day: Parker Messick, Guardians

Messick struck out nine over eight innings, allowing two runs, two hits and two walks, in the 4-2 win over the Orioles.

Messick carried a no-hitter into the ninth before allowing consecutive singles to Leody Taveras and Blaze Alexander. Both runners eventually scored after Messick’s exit.

Messick earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 3.7 for the season, rising to seventh overall and fifth among American League pitchers. He’s one of three players with 3.7 points, but ranks lowest among them based on 2025 Box-Toppers points. Messick earned 1.0 point in his 2025 rookie season.

Adell hit a grand slam and went 2-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 11-4 win over the Yankees.

Millas doubled and went 2-for-2, scoring once, in the 8-7, 10-inning win over the Pirates.

This was his Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honors. Millas made his Major League debut Aug. 28, 2023, and was playing in his 63rd career game.

Joc Pederson, Rangers, has now earned Box-Toppers points in 11 straight seasons after earning his first Player of the Game honor of 2026.

Pederson’s best season was 2024 with the Diamondbacks, when he earned 6.4 points, 14th among NL batters. In 2025, he earned 1.0 point with the Rangers.
