Pérez struck out seven over six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, in the 4-1 win over the Twins.

This was Pérez’s fifth start since his June 9 return from Tommy John surgery. He underwent the procedure in April 2024.

George Springer of the Blue Jays hit two home runs and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 8-5 win over the Yankees.
Springer earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 8.7 for the season, 15th among all players and second among AL batters, behind Riley Greene of the Tigers (9.0 points).
National League Batter of the Day
James Wood of the Nationals homered and went 5-for-5, scoring three times and driving in two runs, in the 11-7 win over the Tigers.
Wood earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 7.7 for the season, 25th among all players and third among NL batters, behind Seiya Suzuki of the Cubs (8.5 points) and Christian Yelich of the Brewers (8.2 points).
Debut
Cubs pitcher Cade Horton made his Box-Toppers debut Thursday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
Horton (7IP 5H 0R 2BB 5K ND in the 1-0, 10-inning win over the Guardians) made his Major League debut May 10 and was playing in his 10th career game.
