Suarez struck out eight over six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 5-1 win over the Pirates.

Suarez earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks 25th among all players.

American League Player of the Day

Bobby Witt Jr. of the Royals hit two home runs, including a three-run shot, and went 4-for-5, scoring four times and driving in five runs, in the 13-3 win over the Astros.

Witt earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks 35th among all players. His 9.4 Box-Toppers points over 2023-24 is third-most among AL batters over that span, behind Aaron Judge of the Yankees (14.5) and Kyle Tucker of the Astros (12.5).

American League Player of the Day is Bobby Witt Jr. of the Royals.

National League Batter of the Day

Tyrone Taylor of the Mets hit a pinch-hit grand slam and went 1-for-1, scoring once and driving in four runs, in the 16-4 win over the Braves.

Debut

Colton Cowser of the Orioles made his Box-Toppers debut Thursday with his first career Player of the Game honor.

Cowser (2HR 2B 3-5 2R 4BI in the 9-4, 10-inning win over the Red Sox) made his Major League debut July 5, 2023, and was playing in his 37th career game.

It is the second straight day an Orioles player made their Box-Toppers debut. Jordan Westburg earned his first career Player of the Game honor Wednesday.
