Meanwhile, Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish rises to lead National League pitchers, rising to third place overall. Plus, Aaron Judge of the Yankees leads American League batters and Jason Heyward of the Cubs leads NL batters.

Bundy has 6.0 Box-Toppers points through the games of Aug. 13, rising from second place overall last week, passing previous leader, Indians pitcher Shane Bieber, who falls to second place overall with 4.7 points. Bundy also passes Bieber to lead AL pitchers.

Darvish rises to lead NL pitchers with 4.7 Box-Toppers points, rising from fourth place last week. He passes previous leader, teammate Tyler Chatwood (3.7), who falls to fourth place. Darvish, who ranked 10th overall a week ago, now ranks third overall.

Aaron Judge of the Yankees rises to lead AL batters with 4.0 Box-Toppers points, rising from second place a week ago. Judge ranks sixth among all players. Judge passes last week’s AL batting leader Max Kepler of the Twins (3.5), who falls to second place.

Jason Heyward of the Cubs rises to lead NL batters with 3.7 Box-Toppers points, passing last week’s leader J.T. Realmuto of the Phillies (2.5), who falls to second place. Heyward ranks 10th among all players.

So far this season, 209 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 28 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points. There are 21 players who have made their Box-Toppers debut so far this season, the first time in their career they earned Player of the Game honors. There have been 263 games completed in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season in which 900 are scheduled, meaning 29.2 percent of scheduled games have been played.

About Box-Toppers—Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
