Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer rises to lead Box-Toppers weekly player rankings report, passing last week’s leader Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers.

Meanwhile, Bellinger continues to lead National League players in Box-Toppers points, ranking second overall.

About Box-Toppers’ team abbreviations

Bauer leads all players with 5.4 Box-Toppers points. He ranked fifth overall last week. Bauer also leads American League pitchers, passing last week’s leader, Blake Snell of the Rays, who falls to second with 4.0 points. Bauer ranked third among AL pitchers last week.

Bellinger falls from first to second place overall with the same 5.2 Box-Toppers point total he had last week. He continues to lead all NL players and all NL batters, ahead of Christian Yelich of the Brewers (4.5 points).

German Marquez of the Rockies is the new leader among NL pitchers this week with 4.0 Box-Toppers points, passing last week’s leader Josh Hader of the Brewers (4.0). Marquez ranks fifth overall. Though both Marquez and Hader have 4.0 Box-Toppers points, Marquez ranks ahead because he had more 2018 Box-Toppers points—14.7 vs. 11.7.

Tim Beckham of the Mariners continues to lead AL batters with the same 3.5 Box-Toppers point total he had last week, ahead of second-place AL batter and teammate Omar Narvaez (2.7). Beckham ranks 14th overall.

So far this season, 220 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 32 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points. There are 23 players who have made their Box-Toppers debut so far this season (10 in the past week), the first time in their career they earned Player of the Game honors.

Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. Players earn Box-Toppers points for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
