Also Friday, Pete Alonso of the Mets rises to first place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning National League Batter of the Day honors. In addition, Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto rises to fifth place after winning Player of the Game.

Gunnar Henderson of the Orioles, the American League Rookie of the Year, is among the players on Box-Toppers 2023 All-Rookie Team.
But Corbin Carroll of the Diamondbacks, voted National League Rookie of the Year, is not among the players on the team, having finished sixth among rookie outfielders with 3.0 Box-Toppers points in 2023.

Lopez pitched a complete-game, four-hit shutout, striking out 12 and walking none, in the 5-0 win over the Royals.
