Nationals pitcher Jake Irvin is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Saturday, Sal Stewart of the Reds rises to first place among National League batters in 2026 Box-Toppers points after earning NL Batter of the Day honors.

Other Player of the Game winners Saturday include Royals pitcher Cole Ragans and Cole Young of the Mariners.

Player of the Day: Jake Irvin, Nationals

Irvin struck out nine over 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks, in the 6-3, 10-inning win over the White Sox. Irvin did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the White Sox tied the game after he exited.

Irvin earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 57th in season player rankings, 19th among NL pitchers.

AL Player of the Day: Cole Ragans, Royals.

Ragans struck out 11 over six innings, allowing one run, five hits and no walks, in the 12-1 win over the Angels.

Ragans earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being American League Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks 29th among AL pitchers.

NL Batter of the Day: Sal Stewart, Reds.

NL Batter of the Day: Sal Stewart, Reds

Stewart hit a three-run home run and went 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in five runs, in the 9-2 win over the Tigers.

Stewart earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 11th among all players and rising to first among NL batters, passing previous leader, Max Muncy of the Dodgers (3.7 points).

AL Batter of the Day: Cole Young, Mariners.

AL Batter of the Day: Cole Young, Mariners

Young homered, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in one run, in the 11-9 win over the Cardinals.

This was Young’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Young made his Major League debut Sept. 1, 2025, and was playing in his 45th career game.

Rangers relief pitcher Cole Winn also made his Box-Toppers debut Saturday with his first career Player of the Game honor.

Winn (1IP 0H 0R 0BB K W in the 4-3 win over the Athletics) made his Major League debut April 14, 2024, and was playing in his 59th career game.
