Reds pitcher Nick Lodolo is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Other Player of the Game winners Wednesday include Vinnie Pasquantino of the Royals, Rangers pitcher Patrick Corbin, Rafael Devers of the Giants and Mets pitcher Sean Manaea.
Player of the Day
Lodolo pitched a complete-game, four-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking none, in the 5-0 win over the Nationals.
Lodolo earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 7.7 for the season, 36th among all players and 15th among National League pitchers.
Lodolo recorded a +13.0 Box-Toppers game score, the same as another Wednesday Player of the Game winner, Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow (7IP 3H R BB 12K ND in the 4-3 win over the Twins). But Lodolo beat Glasnow for Player of the Day honors on a tiebreaker because he earned the win in his game while Glasnow picked up a no-decision.
American League Player of the Day
Vinnie Pasquantino of the Royals hit two home runs, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 8-4 win over the Cubs.
Pasquantino earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 4.2 for the season, 19th among AL batters.
National League Batter of the Day
Rafael Devers of the Giants hit two home runs, including a three-run homer, in the 9-3 win over the Braves. Devers went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in four runs.
Devers earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 5.2 for the season, 87th among all players and 13th among NL batters.
This was his first Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor since being traded June 15 from the Red Sox. He earned his other 3.7 points in 2025 with Boston.
American League Batter of the Day
There is no separate AL Batter of the Day for Wednesday because the overall AL Player of the Day is batter Vinnie Pasquantino.

About Box-Toppers
Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
Box-Toppers strives for accuracy. See a mistake in a post? A wrong name, wrong team, grammar error, spelling goof, etc.? Thanks for pointing it out! Contact Box-Toppers here. Let's fix it and make it right.
