Luzardo struck out seven over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 13-0 win over the Giants.
Luzardo earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 10.7 for the season, rising to ninth among all players and fifth among National League pitchers.
Luzardo becomes the 10th player this season to reach 10 Box-Toppers points. It is his second season with 10 or more points. He also did it in 2023 with the Marlins when he had 17.4 Box-Toppers points, fifth among all players and second among NL pitchers.
Luzardo earned just 2.0 Box-Toppers points in 2024 with the Marlins, making only 12 starts. He first went on the injured list in 2024 with left elbow tightness and then was out for the season in late June due to a back injury. He has already made 19 starts with the Phillies in 2025.
American League Player of the Day
Red Sox pitcher Lucas Giolito struck out six over six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks, in the 10-2 win over the Rockies.
Giolito earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 6.7 for the season, 20th among AL pitchers.
American League Batter of the Day
Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the Yankees hit two home runs and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 9-6 win over the Mariners.
National League Batter of the Day
Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Braves hit two home runs and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in two runs, in the 9-2 win over the Athletics.
This is Acuña’s first Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor in nearly two years. He last earned Player of the Game honors Aug. 31, 2023. He finished 2023 with 10.7 Box-Toppers points, second among NL batters.
Acuña tore the ACL in his left knee on May 26, 2024, and was out for the remainder of the season. While he played 49 games in 2024, he earned no Box-Toppers points. He earned his first points of the 2025 season Wednesday in his 41st game, after making his return from injury on May 23.
