National League Player of the Day

Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott (CG 3H 0R BB 5K W in the 1-0 win over the Reds) earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points, giving him 5.7 for the season, most among Tuesday’s Player of the Game winners, 30th among all players and 13th among NL pitchers.

Abbott had a +10.0 Box-Toppers game score Tuesday, the same as another NL pitcher who won Player of the Game honors Tuesday, Padres pitcher Dylan Cease (7IP 3H 0R 5BB 11K W in the 11-1 win over the Dodgers). But Abbott won NL Player of the Day honors over Cease because he pitched more innings in his game—nine vs. seven.

American League Batter of the Day

Evan Carter of the Rangers (HR 3-5 4R 3BI in the 16-4 win over the Twins) earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points, his first points of the season.

Alek Thomas of the Diamondbacks (HR 3-3 4R BI in the 10-3 win over the Mariners) earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points, giving him 2.5 for the season, 39th among NL batters.

Notable

Alejandro Kirk of the Blue Jays won Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors for the second straight day Tuesday.

Kirk (HR 3-5 3R 2BI in the 10-9 win over the Cardinals) was also AL Batter of the Day Monday (HR 2-2B 4-5 R 2BI in the 5-4, 10-inning win over the Cardinals). He earned 1.5 Box-Toppers points Monday and 1.0 point Tuesday, giving him 3.5 for the season, 17th among AL batters.

White Sox pitcher Brandon Eisert made his Box-Toppers debut Tuesday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
