Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert and Aaron Judge of the Yankees are Box-Toppers Player of the Game winners in Tuesday’s two American League Division Series games.

AL Division Series Game 3: Mariners 8, Tigers 4

Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert struck out seven over six innings, allowing one run, four hits and no walks.

The Mariners now lead the best-of-five game series, 2-1.

Gilbert earned 13.1 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 20th among all players and 10th among AL pitchers.

Gilbert recorded a +7.0 Box-Toppers game score to lead all Mariners. Top Mariners batter was J.P. Crawford (HR SF 2-2 2R 2BI) with a +4.0 game score. Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty had a -4.9 game score in the loss (3.1IP 4H 4R 3ER 3BB 6K L).

Aaron Judge of the Yankees is Box-Toppers Player of the Game in Tuesday’s Game 3 win over the Blue Jays.

AL Division Series Game 3: Yankees 9, Blue Jays 6

Aaron Judge of the Yankees hit a three-run home run, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four runs.

The Yankees win their first game of the series and trail the Blue Jays in the best-of-five game series, 2-1.

Judge earned 6.5 Box-Toppers points in 2025, 20th among AL batters. Though he is a favorite for AL Most Valuable Player, he ranked comparatively lower in Box-Toppers rankings because in Yankees wins, there was often another player who was a more key contributor to the win.

Judge recorded a +6.0 Box-Toppers game score to lead all Yankees players. Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodón recorded a game-low game score of -15.9 (2.1IP 6H 6R 2BB 2K ND). David Bednar, who served as Yankees closing pitcher, had a +3.2 game score (1.2IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K Sv). Blue Jays starting pitcher Shane Bieber recorded a -6.8 game score in the loss (2.2IP 5H 3R 2ER BB 2K ND). Blue Jays reliever Louis Varland had a -3.0 game score (1IP 2H 2R 0BB 2K L).

About Box-Toppers

Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day. (No Box-Toppers points are awarded in postseason games.)

Box-Toppers strives for accuracy. See a mistake in a post? A wrong name, wrong team, grammar error, spelling goof, etc.? Thanks for pointing it out! Contact Box-Toppers here. Let's fix it and make it right.
