Also Sunday, Rockies pitcher German Marquez rises to seventh place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day—Pivetta struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 1-0 win over the Athletics.

Pivetta earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 108th among all players, 41st among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day—Manny Machado of the Padres hit two home runs, including a three-run shot, in the 11-1 win over the Phillies. Machado went 2-for-2, scoring three times and driving in five runs.
