Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Lopez struck out seven over seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, in the 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Lopez earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 8.4 for the season, 11th among all players and seventh among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day—Bobby Dalbec of the Red Sox homered, tripled and went 3-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 7-1 win over the Royals.

Debut—Padres pitcher Nabil Crismatt made his Box-Toppers debut Saturday with his first career Player of the Game honor.

Crismatt (3IP H 0R 0BB 3K W in the 7-5 win over the Reds) made his Major League debut Aug. 17, 2020, and was playing in his 23rd career game.

Notable—Twins pitcher Caleb Thielbar earned his first Box-Toppers Player of the Game honor in nearly eight years Saturday.

Thielbar (1IP 0H 0R 0BB K W in the 3-2 win over the Rangers) last earned Player of the Game honors Sept. 3, 2013, when he was also with the Twins. That was his Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. He now has 2.0 career Box-Toppers points.

Thielbar did not play in the Major Leagues from 2016 to 2019.
