Verlander struck out 12 over eight innings, allowing one run, one hit and one walk, in the 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Notable—Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw extends his lead in career Box-Toppers points among active players after earning Player of the Game honors Tuesday.
