American League Player of the Day—Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out seven and allowing four hits, in the 6-0 win over the Cubs.
American League Batter of the Day—Manny Machado of the Orioles hit two home runs and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 19-3 win over the Phillies.
National League Batter of the Day—Clint Robinson of the Nationals homered and went 4-for-5, scoring three times and driving in two runs, in the 16-4 win over the Rays.
Debut—Matt Duffy of the Giants made his Box-Toppers debut Tuesday, the first time in his career he earned Player of the Game honors. Duffy (HR 3-4 2R 3BI in the 6-2 win over the Mariners) made his Major League debut Aug. 1, 2014, and was playing in his 87th career game. He is the 3,504th player to debut in Box-Toppers since record keeping began in 1995.
