What are those numbers after players' names?

Hernandez has 11.4 Box-Toppers points and is the only player so far this season with 10.0 or more points. He has led players in Box-Toppers points all but six days this season.

Fielder had a meteoric rise to top AL batters in Box-Toppers points this past week. Fielder earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors four times during the past week (including twice earning AL Batter of the Day honors), picking up 5.0 Box-Toppers points. Fielder now has 6.5 Box-Toppers points for the season, the most of any AL batter. He also ranks ninth among all players.

Fielder passes last week’s AL batting leader Colby Rasmus of the Astros (5.0 Box-Toppers points).

Scherzer tops NL pitchers this week with 9.0 Box-Toppers points, rising from third place among NL pitchers last week. Scherzer ranks second among all players. Scherzer and Gerrit Cole of the Pirates both have 9.0 Box-Toppers points on the season, but Scherzer wins the tiebreaker because he had more 2014 Box-Toppers points—22.1 vs. 5.7.

Scherzer passes last week’s NL pitching leader Shelby Miller of the Braves, who falls to third among NL pitchers with 7.0 Box-Toppers points.

Bryce Harper of the Nationals leads NL batters for the third straight week with 6.5 Box-Toppers points. He ranks 10th among all players.

So far this season, 399 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 129 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points.

About Box-Toppers—Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
