Also Sunday, three players rise in Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list after each earned Player of the Game honors: Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow rises to third place, Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola rises to fourth place and Rangers closing pitcher Kirby Yates rises to eighth.

Player of the Day

Parker struck out eight over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks, in the 6-0 win over the Astros.

Parker earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks 73rd among all players.

This was Parker’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Parker made his Major League debut April 15 and was playing in his second career game.

American League Player of the Day is Yankees pitcher Luis Gil.

Yankees pitcher Luis Gil struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run (none earned), two hits and three walks, in the 5-4 win over the Rays.

Gil earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 17th among AL pitchers.

American League Batter of the Day is Buddy Kennedy of the Tigers.

National League Batter of the Day is Jesus Sanchez of the Marlins.
