Twins pitcher Devin Smeltzer is Thursday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Smeltzer struck out three over six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks, in the 1-0 win over the Guardians.
Smeltzer earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks 230th among all players, 74th among American League pitchers.
National League Player of the Day—Dansby Swanson of the Braves hit two home runs and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 7-6 win over the Giants.
Swanson earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 28th among NL batters.
Swanson had a Box-Toppers game score Thursday of +5.0, which was the same as another NL batter who earned Player of the Game honors, Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers (HR 3-4 3R 3BI in the 10-5 win over the Reds). But Swanson beat Bellinger for NL Player of the Day honors because he hit two home runs while Bellinger hit one.

Stanton earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 4.5 for the season, ninth among AL batters.

About Box-Toppers—Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
